LAWYER

Shamim received her Juris Doctor degree from Western University, after working as a law clerk in the area of personal injury. She articled at a prominent full-service law firm and was called to the bar in 2020. She then practiced civil litigation, with a focus on insurance law, before joining Laxton Glass LLP in 2022.  

She has experience with motor vehicle accident claims (including tort and statutory accident benefits claims), occupiers’ liability, fraud litigation, and professional negligence claims. She has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, the Small Claims Court, and the Licence Appeal Tribunal.   

Shamim developed an interest in advocacy in law school, where she placed as a finalist in several oral advocacy competitions and volunteered at a number of legal clinics. She has co-authored numerous articles that were published in legal newsletters across various platforms, including the Canadian Bar Association and Ontario Bar Association.  

In her spare time, she enjoys practicing and teaching yoga, meditating, painting portraits, and outdoor sports and activities.
