Jodie received her Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) from the University of Guelph, majoring in Criminal Justice and Public Policy. She went on to earn her Paralegal Diploma from Sheridan College. After practicing as a Paralegal, she decided that she wanted to expand her skill set. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law in 2019. She was called to the Bar in 2020, after articling at a prominent full-service law firm.
Jodie joined Laxton Glass LLP following her Call to the Bar in 2020. She practices in the areas of tort, statutory accident benefits, priority and loss transfer disputes and is always seeking to expand her practice. She has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Small Claims Court, Financial Services Commission of Ontario, License Appeal Tribunal, Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, Health Professions Appeal and Review Board and Landlord and Tenant Board.
Jodie is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Ontario Bar Association, Toronto Lawyers Association, Medico-Legal Society of Toronto, the Advocates Society, and the Indigenous Bar Association. She has a personal interest in Environmental and Indigenous matters.
When Jodie is not practicing law, she is practicing her Frenglish and Spanglish. She enjoys true crime podcasts, good food and travel. Otherwise, if you can catch her, you can find her running a quick 5k before work with her beloved rescue mutt, Tucker, running a half marathon, playing rugby or softball, squeezing in a CrossFit class, or attempting to improve her horrible tennis game. In the warmer months, her free time is spent hiking the region or paddling the local waters.
