Jamie was called to the Bar in 1995 and began the practice of law as an associate lawyer at Laxton Glass LLP where he is now a partner. His practice includes all aspects of personal injury claims including coverage issues, first and third party claims, disputes between insurers arising from first party claims and indemnity claims between insurers (such as loss transfer). He is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, Canadian Defence Lawyers, Defense Research Institute, Toronto Lawyers' Association, The Advocates' Society, the Trucking Industry Defense Association, the Transportation Lawyers Association and the Canadian Transportation Lawyers' Association and the Canadian Society of Medical Evaluators. He is certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Specialist in Civil Litigation.

Jamie has appeared as counsel in the Superior Court (General Division), Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court, and the Court of Appeal for Ontario.

He has also appeared as counsel at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal. Jamie also regularly attends as counsel at arbitrations and appeals at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, Licence Appeal Tribunal and private arbitrations involving insurance related disputes between insurers (priority disputes and loss transfer claims).

Jamie's time away from the office is consumed by his other passions, his wife, children and dogs.
