Daniel was called to the Ontario Bar in 2003, after having graduated from Osgoode Law School in 2002. He joined Laxton Glass LLP in 2004.
Daniel has focused his practice on insurance defence litigation, with an emphasis on personal injury law, both first party and third party claims. Daniel's practice is comprised primarily of litigation arising from motor vehicle accidents, but also slip and trip and fall accidents. Daniel also works on property loss or damage claims, as well as subrogated claims for insurers.
Daniel has been successful on several occasions before the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal involving applications to determine if one's right to sue is taken away, or if a person is entitled to receive workplace benefits.
He has also appeared on Mediations and Arbitrations at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, and has appeared at all levels of court in the province, including the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
Some of the most recent areas of law in which Daniel has focused his attention include, coverage issues arising from intentional and/or criminal acts and the use of an automobile as a weapon. Daniel also gets involved regularly on interesting issues in his role as defence counsel in lawyer's negligence cases.
Daniel is a member of the Canadian and Ontario Bar Associations, as well as Canadian Defence Lawyers.
On a more personal note, Daniel recently became the proud father of twins! He likes to spend his time socializing with friends and spending time with family, reading fiction and cooking.
