Jason was called to the bar in Newfoundland and Labrador in 1998 and in Ontario in 2001. Before joining Laxton Glass LLP in 2004, Jason practised in St. John's.
Jason practices in a number of different areas of insurance law, including motor vehicle accident claims (both tort and statutory accident benefits), property and casualty claims, coverage disputes and professional liability claims.
Jason has advocated on behalf of his clients at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. Stanley Tessis and Jason were successful in a decision reported in the Ontario Reports that addressed the issue of "direct compensation" for property damage claims in the context of cargo that is "carried for reward” - G.L. Gibbons Delivery Service Ltd. v. Jenkins.
Jason is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Canadian Defence Lawyers, Defense Research Institute and the Ontario Bar Association.
When outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, exploring Toronto's many cultural neighbourhoods (and restaurants!), enjoying live music - anything from Irish/Celtic to opera - and keeping involved in various community and political organizations.
